We Are Heavy Bloom
HEAVY BLOOM is a genre-blending band from Seattle, WA, known for a soulful fusion of pop, R&B and funk with influences ranging from 80s synth-pop to modern electronic sounds. Band leaders Jeanie Marinella and Joji Harada began writing together in 2020. As their creative vision evolved, they decided to form a band to bring their musical concepts to life.
With smooth vocals, creative instrumentation, and a knack for experimental production, HEAVY BLOOM creates a dynamically retro reflection of their diverse musical roots and continual commitment to pushing boundaries. Armed with funky basslines, delicately intricate harmonies and infectious danceable drum grooves, the group draws direct inspiration from artists like Remi Wolf, Little Dragon and Amber Mark.
Since forming in 2023, HEAVY BLOOM has built a strong local following performing at legendary venues like Nectar Lounge, The Sunset Tavern and Central Saloon. Seizing the opportunity to open for international acts like Daste and Brooklyn's Cool Company, HEAVY BLOOM have been featured at regional music festivals like Capitol Hill Block Party, Bite of Seattle and a headlining slot at Fremont Fridays.
HEAVY BLOOM released their debut album, Back To Us, in 2026, marking the occasion with a sold out album release show in Seattle. The band followed that up with a Live on KEXP session, one of the station's most coveted features. With the album out and momentum building, HEAVY BLOOM is bringing their sound to new stages and new audiences in the years ahead.
